Fujifilm's FinePix S8000fd megazoom camera

PhotographyBLOG was able to spend some time with this 18x zoomer, and on almost every account, this thing performed admirably. Deemed Fujifilm's "best attempt yet to fuse the advantages of compact and DSLR cameras together," it managed to warm the hearts of reviewers. Granted, they weren't exactly pleased with the noise performance, but the zoom is really what vaulted this piece to a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

The S8000fd features a full-resolution ISO equivalency of ISO 1600. The S8000fd can achieve ISO 3200 and ISO 6400 at 50% resolution, settings that are rare at the consumer level. Such high light sensitivities allow for faster shutter speeds, which reduce blurring caused by both camera shake and subject movement.

The Fujifilm S8000fd features Fujifilm's Face Detection technology. Innovative Face Detection instantly identifies faces in the scene and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure beautiful people pictures. And with the ability to identify faces anywhere in the scene, the FinePix S8000fd can detect up to 10 faces at a time.
