... Cameras till now have only ever taken images before our very eyes. Rather than accepting this and getting permanently locked into one way of looking at the world – and one way of capturing visual memories through the lens – why not expand our understanding of photography and reveal an augmented view of a given moment? Behind the Scenes Camera is designed to capture what’s going on behind our back, beyond our control, while simultaneously capturing the scene in front of us, the one we control. Technologically, this is not revolutionary. It’s the idea that’s breakthrough! This nonobject camera is designed to unveil a more holistic and nuanced perspective of any slice in time, anywhere in the world. It makes possible a way of looking at life that’s impossible otherwise...
The NONOBJECT Book is the first of its kind - the first of a new genre we call Design Fiction. In the same way that sci-fi movies and fictional tales stretch your imagination, our hope is to take you on a journey into the future of design and inspiration. We will share stories and concepts that offer a new point of view, a new way of thinking, a new way forward. Of course, as with all fiction, some of our ideas may seem improbable – even impossible. Don’t worry, we bought the tickets. All you have to do is enjoy the ride.
The nonobject book will include an exclusive DVD with movies of the nonobjects presented in the book plus audio recordings with author’s thoughts behind each of the concepts.
